01

Begin with your real exam workflow

Write down how questions are approved, candidates join, exams are assigned, technical issues are handled and results are released. Software should support these decisions clearly rather than forcing the team into hidden workarounds.

02

Evaluate the candidate experience

Test registration, instructions, mobile responsiveness, accessibility, exam navigation, recovery and submission. A long feature list does not compensate for an unclear or unreliable attempt experience.

03

Assess security proportionately

Ask which controls can be enabled per exam, who can view evidence, how alerts are reviewed and how long records are retained. Avoid claims that any product can guarantee the prevention of cheating.

04

Understand pricing and support

Compare the subscription, included usage, credit model and any charges for messages, evidence or marketplace operations. Confirm how renewals, additional credits, support and data export work before purchase.

05

Test administration and recovery workflows

Ask vendors to demonstrate connection loss, assignment changes and result correction. Review permissions, audit records, exports and support escalation. These operational details often matter more than a long feature checklist.

06

Validate privacy and ownership

Confirm where data is processed, how tenants are separated, who can access evidence and how information can be exported or deleted. Agree ownership of questions, results and certificates, together with incident communication and an exit plan.
